Our Family Gained 8lbs 5oz!!

I am VERY happy to announce the birth of our newest baby girl...

Tatum Marie Moore
Born on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 8:41pm
She weighed 8lbs 5oz and was 21in long
A FULL head of dark brown hair (all that heartburn showed)

I am pretty sure every mommy says this, but she is perfect!!

I didn't have this blog when I had Thomas or Taylor, so their birth stories are only what I can still remember...which isn't much...so I am super excited that I will get to share this story with you and then always have it just as I remember it!

If you noticed my ticker last week you would have noticed that I was overdue, so on Tuesday my doctor scheduled me for induction on Wednesday at noon.

Honestly it was all pretty hilarious to me. I got up like any other day, took a shower, shaved my legs, did my hair and makeup and headed out. We took the kids to school for a few hours and then enjoyed those last hours as parents of two!! I couldn't handle it though and we go the kids earlier than we had planned. We took the munchkins to my parents house where they would wait for their baby sister to be born!! But not before getting a few last preggo pics!!

There it is...the last profile pic of my LAST preggo belly!!

When I uploaded the pics today I was so excited when I saw this one...I really love that I get to call these kids my own!!

This one will always be MY BABY!! Even if he is so far from it!!

Tom and I kissed the kids good-bye and headed for the hospital! I could write a post all about how I though things would go once we got there, but I won't...let's just say it was not anything that I had envisioned!

It was so weird just pulling up to the hospital and walking in all casually. "Yeah...I am just here to be induced!!" I laughed every time I said out loud! We got all checked in and they took us to our room to get settled. I ACTUALLY thought I would done giving birth within the hour...little did I know!

I needed to have two doses of penicillin four hours apart! I looked at the nurse like she was nuts. She laughed at me!! My day nurse was really great and thought Tom and I were hilarious! Anyway, finally at 2pm I got my first dose and knew it would be at least 6pm before anything happened. Enter sad face!!

At 4pm they started me on pitocin to get my contractions going!! And that worked like a charm!! At a quarter to 6 my doc stopped by to check on me, unfortunately he was not on call that night so he would not be delivering baby Tatum, he said everything looked good and I got my second dose of penicillin. My contractions were getting pretty strong, but I thought I could hold off on my epidural for a little longer. LOL!! Within 10 minutes I was not loving life at all!!

My new nurse came on at 6pm and at 10 after I was begging for my epidural!! Begging!! I had Tom call my mom and tell her to be at the hospital at 7!! I had a feeling things were about to happen!

I got my epidural at about 6:30 and my mom got there a few minutes after 7!! I was again loving life once I couldn't feel my lower extremities!! More power to you gals out there who can handle the pain...this girl has no pain tolerance!! Things were uneventful for the next hour and at 8 my nurse checked me and I was 5cm!

As she left the room she asked me if my two other deliveries were fast...I told her YES!!!

Minutes later my contractions went from bad to HORRIBLE!! My epidural ended up not being very strong and my lower back was killing me. At about 8:25pm water broke...and about that...I had not idea what that felt like, but I knew the second it happened that SOMETHING had just happened!! I paged my nurse and when she came in and looked...I was right! I had never experienced that before and now I have and let me just say that I am glad it did not happen anywhere else!!

She called the doctor and he was ten minutes away...

THE LONGEST TEN MINUTES OF MY LIFE!!

He walked into my room at 8:37 and at 8:41 I was holding my baby girl!!

Fast didn't even begin to describe how quickly things went. And when I reached down and grabbed my girl the amount of hair on her head explained perfectly the heartburn I had had for the last 6 months straight! She was my biggest baby by one ounce, but was like her sister and brother in so many ways...her toes...her fingers...her skinny long legs!!

Can I comment quickly on the gowns that they give you to wear...I think it is time someone comes up with something a little less dated. They truly are hideous!

A day that was 40 weeks and 4 days in the making, but SO WORTH IT!!

I have lots more to share...so stay tuned!!

Our Final Hours!!

Well if you have looked in my sidebar you may have noticed that my pregnancy ticker is now well over the 40 week mark...

No I did not forget to remove it!! I still have not had my baby girl. She is being a typical girl and taking her sweet time to join us.

Well she was!!

After going to the doctor yesterday I have decided to be induced. Today in fact...in just three hours I should be walking into my delivery room and getting some serious drugs!! I know some of you rockstars out there choose to go drug-LESS...not me!! I have no problem telling you all that I am a wimp...and I want the drugs.

Yesterday was officially our last afternoon playing in the sun with only TWO kids!! Tom played good hubby and cleaned my car from top to bottom while the kids rode their bikes!! As usual catching Thomas on camera was impossible. He tends to disappear the second he goes out front!! I did catch my Cookie though!! She rode with me to get the mail!!

And this morning I made the kids a special waffle breakfast to Celebrate Little Ick's Birthday!! They are SOOO excited to meet their baby sister today!!! We took them both to school for a few hours and then they will go hang with PaPa while we are at the hospital.

And I am excited to be able to share her with you all in a few days!!

So the plan was....

So about a minute after I found out I was pregnant I made a very important phone call. Well OK I called my mom first and then I made the other important phone call. I called my best friend Jaime...a friend that I can honestly say I have been friends with longer than anyone else.

Of course I wanted to tell her that I was having another baby, but more importantly I wanted to tell her that she would have one more chance to be with me when I gave birth. See...Jaime is a labor and delivery nurse and more than my wedding or a shower or any birthday I thought it would be absolutely awesome if she was with me.

Well...

I really wish this was the part where I entered a picture of said baby.

Unfortunately...

All the planning in the world could not make this happen. Short of having a scheduled induction (which just so you know...my doc does not like to do if there is no medical reason) it would be a miracle to plan a perfect scenario. I started having contractions last Wednesday night and really thought she was on her way. Of course she was not, but when I went to the doctor on Thursday morning he told me I was dilated 3cm. Now I know that a woman can walk around at 3cm for a good month and nothing happen, but because in the past I had never dilated more than 1cm I thought this meant something.

Thursday night nothing happened, but on Friday I just started having this gut feeling she was on her way.

So...Friday night... Jaime drove through the night from San Diego hoping the whole way she would not have to make a mad dash to the hospital.  She did not!!  So we waited!!! And waited!! And walked!! And pleaded with my baby Tatum to make her appearance!! On Monday I decided to let Jaime check to see if I had made any progress and if there was any possibility we would be taking a trip to the hospital.

Well...

It only took looking at Jaime's face to know that nothing would be happening while she was in town. Enter very sad face!!!

So here I sit...typing this post. I wish I was posting pics of my new baby girl. I wish I was posting pics of my best friend holding my new baby girl, but I am not. However it was a great visit, I am so grateful that Jaime took the time out of her life to make the trip and that we got to spend the time together. My kids absolutely loved having her here and I am pretty sure my dog loved her too.

She left this morning, but unlike most occasions I did remember to take pictures and of course had to share.

Photobucket
Friends for almost 20 years!! Seriously cannot believe it has been that long!!

Photobucket
I really wish this would have worked...I am having a girl though, so she is already showing her stubborn side!!

Photobucket
As good as it would get. Jaime will have to make a return trip to give her a real kiss!!

Jaime with my Taylor!! Taylor was so sad after school today when Jaime wasn't waiting at home for her!!

Thank you Jaime for driving to AZ through the night to help deliver a baby that decided she wasn't ready after all. It meant the world to me!!

Showered With Love!!

Photobucket

On Saturday two of my good friends Jackie and Jody threw me a beautiful baby shower. Good food, two VERY fun projects, and my friends and family. Can it get any better than that??

Yes...it actually can!! My baby girl was spoiled by way of clothes, clothes, diapers and more clothes...oh and more diapers!!

I feel very blessed to have such amazing women in my life and baby Tatum may not even know it yet, but there are quite a few people (besides her immediate family) that are anticipating her arrival.

The tables were adorned with black and white damask with pink accents, Jody's house looked amazing. Unfortunately you are going to have to take my word for it because like every other party...I dropped the ball when it came to taking pictures. I really need to get better about that. I realized that I hadn't taken any pics about a minute before we started cleaning up, so what you see is all I got!!

Here I am...in all my pregnancy glory!! This would be my 38 week photo!! Yes I am well aware I dropped the ball on keeping you all informed as to my "bump" progress also!!  I probably should just stop promising things and then there would be no expectations!!

Photobucket

I opted for cookies rather than cake at my shower...you would too if you had a mom that made cookies like this!! She made super cute ones as "Thank you" favors also, check them out here!! If you are preggers...I think you might need these! Just sayin'.

Photobucket

One of my friends Sheila made these two diaper cakes and I have now decided that this is the gift to give for a shower. So cute and so creative!!

Photobucket

Cookies were one of two things my mom did for the shower...she also made this centerpiece for the food table...

Photobucket

Can you tell what it is?? A tricycle made out of diapers of course!! Topped with the cutest hippo I have ever seen!!

And because I want this huge addition to our family to go smoothly...especially for my Taylor...I brought her along to be my helper.

Photobucket

I think she might have drove my sister and Brannigan nuts, but she had fun and LOVED all the gifts for "Little Ick"!!

A huge thank you to the hosts...each of whom have families of their own that they took time away from to throw this shower.  I loved every last detail!!  And of course a huge thank you to all the guests for helping celebrate my newest (and last) family member!!

Oh Baby Baby!!

OK so the official count is 52 days!!

52 days until my official due date of February 18th!!

I have been so busy with all things Christmas and all things Thomas/Taylor that the baby has definitely been on the back burner.

If I am being completely honest the second I found out what I was having during the last two pregnancies I was out the next day buying clothes and all things baby!

This time has been the exact opposite.

I have a stroller, swing and crib!! And thanks to two of my girlfriends Sarah and Jody I have some baby clothes. Otherwise my baby stock pile is pretty slim.

Yesterday I when I was at Target with the kids I bought my first official baby purchase...

Photobucket

The kids helped me pick this little outfit out and yes...those are little ears on the top of the hoodie.

I have now officially caught the baby bug and should be ready by the time this baby makes her grand entrance!!

It's A.....

If you asked Taylor she would have told you she wanted a sister!!

If you asked Thomas...a brother!!

But if you asked Tom or I??

A HAPPY HEALTHY BABY!!

Another blog I stumbled upon did this (in a way bigger way, I think with a cake) but I loved the idea. I had the doctor seal the results in an envelope and I took the envelope to the bakery at my old store.

I asked the cake decorator to fill two cupcakes with icing that was either blue or pink depending on what the envelope said.

Thank you Toni for two very cute and NON-Revealing cupcakes.

The kids were so excited to find out (or eat a cupcake before dinner) who knows!

I told them to both take a huge bite so we would be able to see what color icing was inside.

The look on Thomas' face was priceless, but the picture unfortunately was of the icing so you will just have to imagine.

Can you see what color it is??

PINK!! A very light shade of pink, but pink nevertheless!!

We are expecting a baby girl and although it took a little convincing of Thomas...everyone is very excited.

Name TBD...for now she will still be called Little Ick!!

16 Down...

I am 16 weeks and feeling good. My clothes are starting to feel a little snug, but haven't had to start shopping yet.

Just counting down the days until we find out if Little Ick is a boy or a girl!!

Here I am in all my pregger glory!!

14 Down...

With the exception of a few things it has become apparent to me that I remember very little from my first two pregnancies. I did a so-so job at documenting my first pregnancy, but with Taylor I don't think I wrote down a single thing.

I love that I can use this blog as my journal and share with my friends and family at the same time.

I am officially 14 weeks today and feeling pretty good.

Here's what's good:

I feel awesome in the morning/early afternoon usually.

I am craving a green salad with ranch almost every night with dinner.

Taylor is so happy about this baby it makes me happy.

Cleaning and organizing are on my mind 24/7, but not in a bad way at all.

My NOOKcolor... I really do not know how I could ever live without it now.

Here's what I could do without:

Lack of sleep. I wish I could nap during the day because I get about 2 hours of solid sleep at night and the rest is spent tossing and turning.

I do not remember being this emotional the last two pregnancies. I cry at least once a day. I won't even tell you some of the things that are making me cry.

The in between stage I am starting to get with my clothes. Rubberbands have become a must have in my purse.

As an extension of the previous...my boobs getting bigger.  Have already had to buy all new bras and still have a ways to go.  OVER IT!!!  Was that TMI?? Oh what do I care this is my blog I can say what I want!

Whining...my fuse seems to have gotten significantly shorter lately and the kids whining/fighting is off the charts.

All in all though pregnancy = good!!  Only 26ish weeks to go. Yippie!!

AKA "Little Ick"

So about a week after we told the kids about the baby I was in my room getting ready and Taylor walks into my room...

She had decided that she was going to call the baby "Little Ick"...All thanks to the show Little Bear on Nick Jr.

And...

It has stuck!!

At least 5-10 times a day does some or all of the following...

Talks to Little Ick...Yep, she talks to my belly!

Asks if Little Ick is sleeping!

Wants to know if Little Ick can share her bedroom (Yea, right!!)

Wants to know if she can feed and hold Little Ick.

Brings me her blankets and/or stuffed animals that she wants Little Ick to have.

I am telling you people...my little Taylor is super excited for "Little Ick" to arrive. I just hope she doesn't want to send him or her back once she figures out what having a baby in the house actually means.

Oh and probably from this point further I will just refer to the baby as "Little Ick" since it has pretty much stuck for the rest of us too.

Some of you may have heard....

But if you have not...

We are expecting baby #3! I have been patiently waiting to get through my first trimester to share the good news. After last summer we decided that it would be best to wait until that 12 week milestone.

Well we made it and all is looking good (actually sounding good)...no new ultrasound for another 8 weeks.

We are all excited for this new addition. Tom and Thomas don't really say much about it, but Taylor on the other hand...she is super excited. At least 5 times (probably more like 10 times) a day she talks about when the baby comes. It really is cute...but I still believe she is in for a rude awakening come Feb.

Anyhoo...

Against my better judgement I have decided to share the growth of my belly. Thank you to my hubby for the wonderful photography skills (completely joking)...he took like 20 pics and this was the only one in focus. I may be enlisting the help of my mirror next time.

12 Weeks!!!

I have a little, tiny bump, but it isn't quite to that pregnancy bump yet...more like the fat tummy bump. If you are or have been pregnant you know what I am talking about.

I feel great now...I did not feel so great weeks 6-10 though. Never got sick sick, but just felt blah.

My energy level is up which is great when you have a 3 and 5 yr old at home.

No real cravings per say, just hungry all the time.
