It Can Get Worse

I wasn't sure our flight home could be any worse than our flight going, but I was wrong!!

Our flight was delayed an hour!!
Stroller set off multiple alarms in security!
Tom had to be searched!!
We gave Tatum Dramamine...in the hopes it would knock her out! (Don't judge)
Tatum threw a marker and hit a guy sitting near us at the gate! (Embarrassing?! YES)
Tatum threw her first fit while we were waiting to board...the ENTIRE airport could hear her!!
SHE FELL ASLEEP!!!!!!!!!
She stayed asleep for take-off and I sat paralyzed in fear if I moved I would wake her!
30 minutes later the pilot got on the intercom AND...
She woke up ...enter sad face here!!
We offered her everything we had in our possession to keep her happy!
The extremely large sucker my hubby bought seemed to be keeping her occupied...
Until she bit threw the stick and it became a choking hazard!

Guess what happened next??

SHE THREW A FIT!!

100x worse than the fit she threw on the flight going!
I know this because this time I have the scratches to  prove it!
She screamed herself to sleep!
We landed and she woke up happy as a clam!

It should come as no surprise that I have no intention of flying with her for a VERY LONG time!!!

The {SOMEWHAT} Happiest Place on Earth

Well when it comes to my family nothing comes without drama and chaos, vacations included!!  For months now we have been anticipating our trip to Disneyland and after the month we had leading up to our big trip, no one was more excited than myself.  I would say though, that my excitement ended about 1 hour into our flight at 15,000 ft.  Absolutely nothing could have prepared me for the EPIC fit Tatum threw.  I'm talking "I think we might get kicked off" epic!!  Never have I ever wished for the ability to blink my eyes and be somewhere else than that very moment.

Don't ask me what set her off...I have no clue!!

Don't ask me what made her finally stop...I have no clue!!

What I do know is that she was crying, I was crying, Taylor was crying, the people around us were shooting me looks that only a parent of an out of control kid can understand and it might have been the longest flight of my life!!

I should have taken that fit as a sign, but I chose to blame it on her being extremely tired and tried to laugh it off AFTER we deplaned.  It made for quite a few good laughs since only the five of us actually got to experience it.

We planned for 3 jammed packed days in Disneyland/California Adventure, but that might not have been the best idea and certainly did not go as smoothly as our last trip to the happiest place on earth!  There is something to be said about having the ability to lay the stroller back and shove a bottle in a tired babies mouth.  Those days are a distant memory and have been replaced with relentless determination to stay awake and cause utter mayhem.

I must say that there were glimpses of smiling and happiness for the little one.  She loved seeing all the characters from CarsLand, she loved the parades and had fun on every ride she was able to go on.  However, for her that is where it ends.  When she wasn't doing one of the above she was making me wish I had stayed home.  When I left her with my mom and my hubby to ride The Tower of Terror they took her to see Mickey Mouse and she lost it.  These characters were a little TOO big for her liking.  She threw a fit while standing in line for Pirates of the Caribbean and after getting out of line with her she threw up all over me.  Yup...all of the Dole Whip Ice Cream she had just eaten was now covering both my arms, part of my shirt and her outfit.  And that was just the first day.

The pictures may seem to tell a different story, but I promise you that is only because I didn't take the time to pull out my camera during any of these fits.

Thomas and Taylor on the other hand...HAD A FANTASTIC TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They both rode every single ride!!

Highlights...CALIFORNIA SCREAMIN' of course!!  Taylor was too short to ride it, but we snuck her on the last day and it was so worth it.  Minus maybe one or two tiny bits of attitude they were perfect the whole trip.  THANK GOODNESS!!  I'm not sure I could have handled anymore bad behavior.

Although it was sometimes dampened by our sweet Tatum is really was a great trip and I'm glad we did it.  We got to spend the week with not only my parents and my sister, but my aunt...all of her grandkids...Jaime and her cute family...and Meredith (my sister's bestie)!!

A long day of traveling, but ready for their Disney adventure!!

 Goofballs!!

She loved getting to see Lightning McQueen!!

When she wasn't being a pill she was pretty cute!!

A rare moment when she let someone else hold her!!

My Amazing parents!!!

My sister's worst nightmare...next time we won't need this area!!!

Right before her Pirates of the Caribbean meltdown!!

There is no such thing as a quick "good" family photo for us.  Keepin' it real!!

Taylor refused to smile or even look at the camera for that matter!!

The big Minnie Mouse moment... Tatum was NOT a fan, but did better than her visit with Mickey!!

Waiting in line is the best time for pics!!

About to get wet!!!!!

 One of our favorite rides...Midway!!!!

Our whole group before Goofy's breakfast!!

So great getting to spend the week with our Auntie Bubs!!!!

One of the only pics with all three of my kids!!!

Looks can be VERY deceiving!!

 Don't wake the beast!!!

5...4...3...2...1...SCREAM!!!!!!!!

Stay tuned...you haven't heard about our trip home!!

Teaser

I know you are chomping at the bit to hear about and see all the pics from our trip to Disneyland, but you will have to wait one more day.  This time I need a few hours of silence to construct the post-vacation blog post.  It wasn't ALL magical moments this time around.

I'll give you a little teaser and tell you that this was one of the rare moments our little Tatum WASN'T screaming.

And So It Begins

Well...

On Friday we became homeowners again!!  I cannot tell you how happy I am that we finally get to say that.  When we decided to let our house go in AZ 3 years ago it was the hardest decision Tom and I had made, but we knew it was the right one.  We both honestly thought it would be a few more years until we would be able to buy again, but happily we were wrong.  We did not waste anytime once we got the OK to start looking!  It did not take us long to find our house and on March 4th we put in an offer and they accepted the next day!!

We have our current house until the end of May, so we will let the kids finish school and move slowly.  We have quite a few projects to complete before we are move-in ready.

This is the living room/dining room.  Picture is taken standing in the kitchen.  We are putting new flooring in this whole area which is currently horrible carpet!

Standing at the opposite end looking back to the kitchen!  For now the kitchen will stay as is because a kitchen remodel isn't quite in our budget.

Literally we were in the house minutes and Tom had the carpet out.  He is on a mission!!

That is all I have for now.  I will take some pictures of the upstairs bedrooms next time I go over.  All three of the kids' bedrooms are in need of some serious paint!!  Stay tuned!!

An EXHAUSTING Birthday Week

Last week was by far the longest, roughest, most exhausting week I've had in a long time.  Coming off of spring break on Monday I was really hoping for a nice quiet day, but unfortunately Taylor had  a nasty cough so I kept her home.  No big deal the first day...she laid low and took a nice long nap.  Monday night she was a little better, so I thought for sure she would be back to school on Tuesday.  NOPE...still coughing and I did not want her to be a disruption in class.  She was super bummed so I bribed her with a little trip to Target, so she could spend some of her birthday money (a day early, but I felt bad for her).

Doesn't she look happy?!  She seemed great, so it was a definite that she would be able to go to school on her birthday!!  Little sis thought she needed a new Minnie as well.   She's obsessed if you forgot!!

She woke up Wednesday morning coughing a little bit, but so excited to go to school for her birthday!!  You get to wear a paper crown you know?!  This is a big deal for a 6 year old!!

So this is how the day started...

And this is how the day ended...

As it turned out...she was not ready to go back to school and I had to go get her early.  I took her to the doctor and then to Children's Hospital for x-rays and after all was said and done...she had pneumonia.  YUP...what I thought was just an dramatic 6 year old dragging out a cough was actually PNEUMONIA!!  I felt horrible!!

Guess who was back at home again on Thursday??  The only bright part of Thursday was the package that came in the mail.  If there was going to be a party it would not be complete with out cookies!!

Thankfully on Friday the medicine she was on had helped A LOT and she went to school.  And she was well enough to still have her party on Saturday!!

It was a long exhausting week, but it ended pretty great!!  Not only is Taylor feeling WAY better...we are homeowners again!!  More on that later!

6 Years

If I sit and think about it I can still remember most of the day that Taylor was born.  My life was changed once again and being a mommy got 100% better and 100% harder.

Taylor Lynn Moore...you came into this world so fast and at that very moment I should have known you would be NOTHING like your brother.  I can say with almost 100% certainty that no one person tests me the way you do.  You have made me laugh, you have made me yell, you have made me cry...some days you have accomplished all 3!!  You are one amazing little lady!!  You are smart, sassy, independent, bossy, caring (when you want to be), beautiful and being your mom rocks!!

Happy Birthday Cook!!  I love you to the moon and back!!
