1 of Many....

The list of things I am going to miss when we move is endless, but at the very top of that list is watching my kids swim at my parents house.  Thomas and Taylor are my little fish.  They LOVE the water.  The water is WAY too cold for me, but they can't get enough.

And this little munchkin is going to totally miss out on all of the pool fun at Nana and Papa's house!!

Stay-cation!

Last week we took a little stay-cation thanks to my parents!!  I picked up Thomas early from school...picked up Taylor...dropped the dog at the kennel and we headed to The Arizona Grand Hotel!

Minus the fact that I still felt like I had to pack everything I own...it was a PERFECT little one night trip.

There was a lot of swimming, lazy rivering, water sliding and just plain relaxing!!

I hope this isn't the last stay-cation we take!!  It was the perfect end to summer (OK we are in AZ so really summer will stick around at least another month and the kids have actually been in school since July but whatever)!!

Another Day At The Pool

I am not sure what I would do if my kids didn't LOVE to swim!!

One more week and this daytime fun will be over for a while!

Before That Happened, This Happened

You don't have to tell me that I have been a blogging slacker lately...I already know!  And if I didn't, my mom would tell me!!  She is sweet like that!  Wink, Wink Mom!

Anyhoo...

Our summer has been pretty laid back!  And without starting in on a rant of sorts that may or may not lead to some serious complaining...I will just say that the heat combined with being cooped up in the house has led to cranky mommy kids!!  I think even they would agree school cannot come soon enough!  Good weather is plentiful in AZ, so I do not feel bad saying that!  Oh lets be honest Melissa...you don't feel bad regardless of the weather!!  But I digress!!

About the only thing we can do outside during the summer is swim and most of the time we swim at my parents house.  Occasionally though, we get to swim with friends.  And that is just what we did last week with our friends The Tavenner's!!  The kids had friends to swim with and mommy had an actual adult to talk with!!  One Stone...Two Birds!!

He drives me crazy, but I love him all that same!!

Such a fish at heart!

We have figured out the downside to all that hair...it makes the heat even worse!!

It takes us a few tries, but we eventually get a pic where all four are looking at the camera  AND SMILING!!

The 4th Day of July

We wore festive clothing!!
We took pictures in said festive clothing!!
We wished for the rain to stop...
It did so we swam!!
We ate too much yummy food and followed that with yummy dessert!!

Happy "day after" the 4th of July!!!!

Swimming

The best part of living in Arizona is the weather, hands down!!  And with the wonderfully hot weather comes a great amount of time spent in the pool!!

This summer has started off just like the last 7...lots and lots of swimming!

Guess who finally got in the water??  Nope not me...well not this day anyway!!  Miss Tatum took her first swim around the pool and screamed the whole time!

We'll try again when the water warms up a bit!!  Apparently 82 degrees is still too cold for this little princess!!

This particular day I was still only ankle deep with my mom!!  I have since gotten in!!

These two would live in the pool if we let them!!

Much happier just chillin' in her car seat at swim lessons!!  She gets a pass this summer, but she won't be so lucky next summer!!

Learning how to dive at swim lessons!!  It's a challenge, that's all I will say about that!!

They both like to do a little sunbathing in between turns!!  As if they need any sun, can you tell how dark they both are already?

I am not trying to rub it in, but it's only week two of our summer, so I predict a whole lot more swimming to share!!

Today I Can Say...

I will be the first to admit that everyday isn't play dates and ice cream...in fact most days there are tears and time-outs!! The potential is there though, everyday I wake up with a "Today is a new day" attitude. Honestly, I am no expert, but I think that is the one thing you have to do if you have any prayer of making it through this thing called motherhood.

Mother's Day 2012 started off like any other day, well I guess if every other day your husband took the kids to buy you Starbucks which mine does not so...scratch that!! Mother's Day 2012 started off like any other HOLIDAY!! Hubby took the kids to get me Starbucks and I enjoyed the 20 min of peace and quiet!! I am not going to lie...that 20 minutes was the only thing peaceful about the day!

I will sum it up for you because it was more one of those "you had to be there" kind of days!!

Coffee and a card!!
Two huge fits from Taylor!!
The Brunch from hell...no joke!!
Another fit from Taylor!!
Sun and some swimming!!
ANOTHER fit from Taylor!!
Free Cheesecake (courtesy of the brunch from hell)
Lazy evening on the couch!!
Oh and one more fit from Taylor!!

Thankfully these pictures only show you the good that was Mother's Day 2012!! Enjoy!!

Today I can say...I have the best job in the world, I get to be a mom to Thomas, Taylor and Tatum!! Sunday I might not have said it so emphatically, so I decided to wait a day or two!!
