It's Official

OUR HOUSE IS ON THE MARKET!!!!!

The Moore family is on the move again.  This time...

Oklahoma!!!

My hubby got a new job and it is taking us on a new adventure.  Oklahoma to be exact!!  My heart is very heavy!!  I never dreamt when we moved to Colorado that I would love it as much as I do.  I remember the day we arrived here and the tears...oh the tears!!  I cried for days!  Mostly because I missed my family, but also because I didn't know a single person and wasn't sure I ever would.

Well...

That couldn't have been further from the truth!!  I (along with my kids) have made amazing friends and have loved our time in Colorado.  It definitely gives me hope for this next chapter.  I'm not sure Oklahoma is where we want to hang our hats permanently, but hey...I would have said the same thing about Colorado 3 1/2 years ago, so you never know.

Two Months (Part 1)

It's been exactly two months since my last post.  I wish I could say it's because we haven't done anything worth blogging about...No wait I don't wish that.  I do wish that every time I sat down at my computer my 3 wonderful children (and my hubby) knew that meant NOT to bother me though.  They don't though and so alas I have neglected my blog once again.

BUT...

I'm about to catch you up!!

AND

OVERLOAD you with pictures!!

If for some reason you only find out what's going on with us through this little blog of mine then you've missed A LOT.  I'll spare you all the boring details, but in February my hubby lost his job with Safeway.  It was a shock at first because he had been with them for 17 years.  Most of you know that since I was 16 years old Safeway has been basically the only income I have known.  I have always said that I bleed Safeway red.  Not anymore though...WEIRD!!  Anyway, for the last two months my hubby has been home.  I thought I'd be sick of him after a few weeks, but surprisingly that did NOT happen.

We've been getting projects done, took a nice trip for our anniversary, have had family in town, been carting the kids to soccer, baseball and dance multiple times a week and really just been enjoying the fact that he gets to be home with us for a while.  I think it's coming to an end soon though.  I'll update you on that when it happens.  LOL!

We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with a trip to Las Vegas (where it all started)!!  It's been 5 years since my hubby and I have stepped on a plane without at least 1 kid!!  We had a few cocktails to celebrate that!!

We "selfied" it up on this trip!!  Waiting for our luggage!!!

We got married at the Golden Nugget 10 years ago, so it was only fitting that we stayed there again!!

Our good friends The Leahy's.

First slot machine of the trip...$1000 win to start us off!!

See those wires way up at the top??  That's the zoomline the four of us did on night 2!!

Rob bought my hubby this totally NOT obnoxious necklace from a street vender!

We may or may not have had a few drinks before the zoomline...well they all did.  I was actually pretty sober!

Until next time Vegas!!!

We definitely missed the kids, but took advantage of every minute that we had away.

3rd Time Was Not A Charm

My sister flew in for the AFC Championship game this weekend and we had hoped that the third time would be the charm, but NO DICE!!

It might not have been the outcome she preferred, but we still had a blast!!  Living in Denver keeps proving to be pretty great.  The memories we have made in less than 3 years are amazing!  She swears THIS really was the last time she would come to see the Broncos play her beloved Patriots, but I doubt it, we have way too much fun.

A Case of the Mondays

My feelings towards Mondays is usually pretty darn good.  Today however, not so much.

1.  Have you ever had a smoke detector that needs a new battery??  OK if your answer is no to that I'm going to need you to just stop reading now.  You'll never be able to relate.  If you have though...well you know that this VERY ANNOYING OCCURANCE happens only in the MIDDLE of the night.  It's like it knows the minute you are in a nice deep sleep in dreamland and BAM!!  BEEP....................BEEP!!  Well that wasn't exactly what happened to me, but it was just as annoying.  Tatum got her very own Kindle Fire for Christmas...SHE LOVES IT...I am tolerating it because I just haven't quite figured it out.  She somehow managed to set an alarm and at 5:37AM...it went off.  First I couldn't find it and then I couldn't figure out how to turn it off.  I am pretty sure my hubby almost threw it against the wall.  Nothing comes easy in a sleepy haze.  I ended up just powering it off and dealing with it later.

2.  Have you ever had your air conditioning go out in you car when it's 115 degrees out?  I HAVE!!  And it sucks!!  Like REALLY sucks.  But you now what's worse??  The heater in your car when it's 15 degrees outside!  Yup...I have now experienced both!  Tatum asked me "Mom...why is there smoke coming out of our mouths?"...  I laughed...and then I called the mechanic and made an appointment.  I'll be driving my hubby's car tomorrow!!

3.  Oh...it's Monday and normally I get to send 3 kids to school and 1 husband to work....today though...thanks to one very annoying cough and a runny nose...the littlest one got to stay home from school!

4.  I normally have all this CLEANING motivation on Mondays!  Nope...4 messy bedrooms and at least 5 loads of laundry are quietly calling my name and I just keep turning the volume up on my TV!

5....I'm pretty sure there was something else I had to tell you, but I've forgotten.

See I'm just off my game today!!  I think I'll binge watch Netflix Making a Murderer and color the rest of the day!  I'll pretend it's Sunday and start my week tomorrow!!!

I'm Back!!!

2015 was a GREAT year!  We spent most of the year making our home OURS!!  Putting a lot of blood, sweat and tears MONEY into it.  We have a small list of things we would still like to do in 2016, but those things will most likely come in the spring time.

Our holidays were great...starting with our first Thanksgiving in Colorado hosting family and friends.  They don't know it yet, but I am expecting them to all come back next year.  The girls and I went back to AZ for my moms annual cookie party and besides me being sick the whole time...it was WONDERFUL!  We spent Christmas at home just the 5 of us and it was perfect.  My hubby took vacation from Christmas until Jan 4...it was actually quite nice.  OK fine it was nice, but Monday morning it was nice to send everyone off to work and school!!

I think 2016 is going to be just as amazing as 2015!!  Thomas will be playing both Baseball AND Football this year, Taylor and Tatum will both be playing soccer again in the spring and Tatum will continue dance.  We are ALL looking forward to our big trip to Disneyworld in May to celebrate my parents' 40th wedding anniversary.  With our newly finished basement suite I hope we will have many guests this year.

I didn't set resolutions for myself, but just a few goals.  Last year I really dropped the ball on my blog and the amount of pictures I took.  I plan to change both!!  Now that I have a craft room all my own I have plenty of things I want to finally get around to completing (haha or starting for that matter).

I will leave you with an iPhone photo dump.  I know that my blog posts just aren't as fun without a few pics.

1.  All I wanted for Christmas Eve dinner was Chinese food from my favorite restaurant...my wonderful hubby drove across town to get it for me!!
2.  Thanks to their Nana the kids continued their tradition of 'List' cookies for Santa!  Highlights...Tatum asked for a Hippo (she did not get it)...Taylor asked for an art set (she got it)...Thomas asked for Madden 16 (he got it).  If you are wondering...Tatum got lots of goodies for her baby doll!
3.  Riley was not left out this year, but received her presents on Christmas Eve...Playing with toys at 9 years old can really wear a girl out!
4.  Had to snap a pic at the gas pump...$18.25 to fill up my gas guzzler!!  LOVE IT!!
5.  Guess who got his iPad back??  I let his dad talk me into fixing it for him...it's been broken since the summer!
6.  SHE LOVES MAKE-UP!!
7.  Adult coloring books are all the rage right now and I'm OBSESSED!!  Since I'm coloring a lot...so are the girls!!
8.  See #7
9.  I SKUNKED my hubby in cribbage the other night!!  Had to take a pic because that has NEVER happened before!

City Girls

I'm not a city girl, but for 3 days I pretended to be one with my sister and my mom.  I can now say that our ANNUAL girls trip (annual because it has now happened two years in a row...LOL) was another one for the books.  I thought it would be pretty hard to top our trip to Dallas last year, but I was wrong.  For the first time EVER...my sister, my mom and I took a trip together.  Just us...and it was great.   If you forgot or didn't know already...visiting EVERY NFL stadium is on my sisters bucket list.  This years check mark went to Soldier Field in CHICAGO!!

Chicago...may be the prettiest DOWNTOWN city I have ever been in.  The drive to and from the airport suggested otherwise, which is why I name downtown specifically.  My jaw was dropped a good portion of the trip in complete AW of all the buildings!

We walked a lot...we went on a double decker bus tour that seemed to last a lifetime...we ate delicious food including Chicago style pizza (seriously my mouth is watering just thinking about it)...we acted like tourists...did I mention we walked a lot?

It was definitely a city I would love to visit again...and if you haven't been there...add it to your bucket list.  It is totally worth it!!!

My personal deep dish pizza...SO DELICIOUS!!

I know I am going to get in trouble for posting this, but sometimes the best pics are candid.

I told my sister to take a pic of me with these statues...I had to get into character though!

Elevator selfie...oh and my first try with the lipstick!

John Hancock Building

We were pretty happy when the bus tour started...our moods changed around hour 3!

Trump Tower!  A little fact...largest residential building in Chicago!

We were smiling, but don't be fooled...we were ready to jump off that top deck!

Walking into Soldier Field!!  Another fact...Soldier Field is the oldest NFL stadium...and the smallest...and it lost its landmark status when the spaceship like seating was added to it!

She jumps in front of every stadium!!  It's my job to get THE shot!!

Yup...the Bears were playing the Cardinals!!

This panoramic actually makes it look larger than it is...I promise you could feel how small it was in comparison to other stadiums we have been to.

Yes...we were back on the double decker bus after the game.  We needed to get back to our hotel and we somehow missed the cab line!

If you know me...you know that I rarely order burgers at restaurants.  So glad I did!!  It was AMAZING!!

When you have a type-A personality...this makes you happy!!

We couldn't skip Dylan's Candy Bar.  Every candy you could possibly imagine!

And as if going to the candy shop wasn't enough...we couldn't leave without getting our Garrett's Popcorn!!  I went with the Chicago mix (cheese and caramel mix)...and because I am nice...I brought it home for my kids.  It took willpower...I could have eaten the entire container on the airplane.

One last pic of our hotel before heading to the airport.

If my pictures didn't express how much fun we had...well then go back and look again...just kidding!!  But really it was so much fun.  And just like last year...I am already looking forward to our adventure next year.

Where Do I Start

I am not even sure where to start.  Summer break is in full swing and thankfully the weather has started to cooperate.  I'm not kidding when I tell you I have been crazy busy lately.

That's a good thing right?

I wish I knew what has happened to me over the last few months.  The procrastinator in me has been silenced for a while.  Another good thing right?  Well it is...except that when I start doing all sorts of projects I tend to spend money.

I keep telling my hubby that we are making the house our HOME!!!  For whatever reason he isn't totally agreeing with me.  It might have something to do with the fact that our basement remodel is starting in a few weeks and it a pretty hefty project.

I know it will be totally worth it in the end, but if I am being totally honest...I too have a little lump in my throat every time I think about how much money we are spending.

Anyhoo...

Like I was saying.

I have been crazy busy lately.  In between trying to keep my kids occupied for the summer I decided that I was NOT happy with the color of the inside of our entire house.  I thought it would be a great idea to paint IT ALL!!  And I did!!  It didn't start off as smoothly as I had hoped though.  I wasn't happy with the first TWO colors I chose.  Who knew GREY was such a hard color to work with?  Apparently everyone but me!  Blue undertones....brown undertones...frankly EVERY color that I chose looked different on every wall.

I finally chose a grey and have now painted EVERYTHING!!  Well everything except the bedrooms and my fun tangerine wall that I painted when we moved in.

It looks fabulous and now...time to paint ALL OF THE TRIM...WHITE!!!  Yes...I know I'm crazy, but seriously I hate the oak that is EVERYWHERE!!

Do you remember these fabulous ugly curtains that were in my family room?

Well...I know that the nice lady that used to live here paid good money for them and I know they are of great quality!  But I REALLY did not like them.  My hubby told me it was not currently in the budget to buy all new blinds though.  Enter sad face!!  I knew that I wanted white blinds, but have looked and for once my hubby was right.  I have not pressed it and was learning to live with them.

And then...

Trash day came!!

Yup...for the first time ever I picked up someone's trash.  To be fair though...it wasn't like I went digging or anything.  The owners of a house right up the street had nicely and NEATLY wrapped up their WHITE blinds and set them on top of the garbage can!!

I drove by and then I quickly whipped it in reverse.  I had a pretty good feeling they would work in my house because...same builder...same window size.  And guess what??  I was right!!

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was...and still am for that matter.  All three of the blinds in the family room were replaced and the blinds in Thomas' room.  All we had to do was buy the hardware.

Now I have the ability to let in as little or AS MUCH light as I want!!  I will now need some window treatments for above, but for now...they are just perfect.  Someone's trash was definitely my TREASURE!!  And best of all it saved me over $300!!!

Man I love a good deal!!
