A Rare Sighting

It is very rare that I get pictures of my kids with anyone else besides each other. Occasionally I get a good one with their dad, but even that is rare.

Yesterday when I went over to my moms I took my camera and made it a point to take a few pics.

And not just of my little Cookie Monster, but of Aunt KiKi and Nana also.

Of course there was some protest from my mom (absolutely NO surprise there), she hates getting her pictures taken. I told her to get over it and I can guarantee that she will be not so happy with me that I am posting these same pics on my blog...

But

Oh well, I thought they were super cute. I played around with them in PSE and tried some to the PW actions that I downloaded.

And can I just say that it took absolutely NO bribery to get Taylor to smile in these pics. I think that is a first.

Pretend

How about we just pretend that August didn't even happen? What do you say? I have been MIA practically the whole month. I do not even have a good excuse either, so I won't even bother.

I will however, tell you what we have been up too.

Pre-K has pretty much set my routine for my weeks. Thomas goes to school from 12-3 everyday, so Taylor and I have three hours of girl time. We rotate between hanging out with Nana, napping at home and running errands just the two of us. My days seem to just fly by and before I know it another week has gone by. Today starts week 5 of school already.

On the subject of school, Thomas has started to read a little. It makes me smile from ear to ear when I sit and practice with him. He sounds out each letter and after a couple of tries he usually blends the letters to actually say the word. He is writing his name much better than last year. I am sooo proud of him.

Last week he was the star of the week in his class and of course he loved every minute of it. They ended the week with crazy hair day and he insisted that I spray paint his hair red, white and black for the Cardinals.

I laugh everyday at how much taller he is than all of the other kids in his class.

I have been busy working on a few projects and hopefully will finish at least one of them today. Keep an eye out for the completed pictures on my crafty blog.

I finally picked up my camera last week and I realized how much I missed it. I promise to never go that long again without taking pictures. I think my kids have doubled in size since the last time I took pictures of them.

Yes you are seeing double...

I am not sure how many people check my crafty blog, so I am doubling my post today.

I know that I am probably bias, but I can not tell you enough how talented my mom is. She has been quite the handy grandma to have around oh and extremely helpful.

And...

She has done it again.

Introducing... FreshCutFlours

She has started a little cookie business and a blog to go with. Stop on by and check it out. She is having a little giveaway that I think you all will enjoy. Take it from me...her cookies are delicious and her aprons are super cute. I am actually not quite sure how the winner will choose.

Is It Fall Yet??

Ok so I have a confession to make.

I must first warn you that you may laugh, so please feel free to sit down first. If you choose to ignore my warning then I can not help you.

It is only August 17th and....

I have already decided what the kids will be for Halloween this year.

Oh I am not done yet.

My mom has already made Taylor's costume and is itching to start Thomas'!!!

And let me just tell you that again my mom outdid herself. I will post a sneak peak once I have a picture.

Stay tuned!!

Monkey Business

I am not sure what has been up with my Cookie Monster these last few weeks. She has become a momma's girl. WHAT?!? I know I am just as shocked as you are. Out of nowhere she has done a 180 and now she wants me. I am not complaining one little bit, but with that said I do not know why it ever bothered me that she wasn't. See for the most part we do just fine her and I, but because we are somewhat alike in personality...SOMEWHAT...we tend to butt heads when we do not agree.

She is BOSSY!! My hubby says I am bossy!! Well there can only be ONE boss in this house and I am sorry to say....

I win!!

Yesterday I was busy taking pictures of my hair clips and of course she followed me outside. Besides thinking she needed to be sitting right next to me the whole time, she also kept saying...

"Mommy I take a picture!"

"See it! See it!!" (she insists upon looking at the picture right after we take it)

This went on for what seemed like forever until I finally just told her "No more pictures."

It is not the best excuse, BUT

I know I am not the only one that has totally been slacking in blogland. I think everyone is in summer mode. I have blogs that I stalk regularly and they have been MIA for quite some time now.

Anyway,

I really do not have a good excuse and I am not even going to say that I do or try to think of one. I thought that once Thomas started preschool again I would have time everyday to be blogging. Well it turns out that I do have the time, but I have been filling that time with what I am now referring to as "Junking". My mom and I have been hitting up the local Goodwill and Salvation Army a few times a week.

I know...I know

Are you cracking up? Well if you aren't then you should take a peak in my garage and you would. I mean...my hubby isn't really, but he hasn't yelled at me yet so I am OK for now.

I now have a list (or garage full) of projects to do. And if it wasn't a million degrees outside I would totally start. Well that and if I knew what I wanted to do with all of this stuff. Other than that I have been making hair clips like a crazy person, so there just hasn't been much time left for blogging.

I thought I better check in though, just in case you were getting worried I had left you for bigger and better things. (As if there was such a thing ;)
