16 Inch

If I wasn't positive how much Tatum is growing up, it only took a bike to remind me.  My parents got her a new one for her birthday and when I told my mom what size to get I was a little nervous it would be TOO big!

Nope...just right!

Of course she had to take it for a little spin around the house before school!!!

After school she got to test it out outside!!

Seriously...such a cheeseball!

This fabulous weather is perfect bike riding weather!!

4 is a big deal!

I seriously cannot believe my baby just turned 4.  I can happily say I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday.  But I definitely had no idea the little girl she would become.  Her personality is off the charts if you haven't experienced it firsthand.  She is smart and sassy and most of the time she keeps up with her brother and sister just fine.

Anyhoo...

I threw a big party for her first birthday, but we stayed pretty low-key for her 2nd and 3rd birthday.  I decided that 4 was the perfect age to have a party where she could invite all of her little friends.  I think all in all it was a huge success...chaotic definitely, but a total success!

We (and be we I really mean me and my guidance) chose to have an ART PARTY!!  We were rainbows all the way!!  I bought cute little canvas' for the kids to paint.  So thankful that at the age of 4 parents hang around for the party because as you can see I REALLY needed their help.

The birthday girl!!

If you know me at all, you know that it is ALL about the details.  Rainbow fruit plate...rainbow veggie plate...colorful candy!!

Even RAINBOW jello...yes I poured each color myself...let it set and the end result was so cute and SOOOO YUMMY!

And as if getting to paint wasn't enough...we hired a face painter also!!!  SO WORTH IT!!!

Love her to pieces!!

The older girls got in on the fun too!!

Tatum and all of her little friends!!!  Good luck getting 3 and 4 year olds to all look at the camera at the same time.

Even when you tell them to make funny faces...still can't do it!

What would ANY party be without cookies from Nana?!   Delicious and BEAUTIFUL as always!!

Details...I made this banner with my Silhouette Cameo!

And thanks to the Lowe's paint counter...I made these little pockets to hold the paint brushes at each kids chair!!

She told me over and over how much fun she had and based on how quickly she fell asleep...I believe her!!

1.  I finally got around to taking my donations to the Salvation Army...3 full bags just from my side of the closet!
2.  My Friday morning date is always Tatum...Starbucks and Target!
3.  I decided to try throwing together my own at home version of Postino bruschetta...tastes just like the restaurant...goat cheese and roasted red pepper...YUMM!
4.  It might be hard to see, but this boxer was sitting in the front seat of this van...he didn't move...just stared out the window.  He cracked me up!
5.  I'm not a beer drinker really, but this Grapefruit Shandy is pretty tasty and it was my drink of choice on Super Bowl Sunday!
6.  And my food of choice...Papa Murphy's Chicken and Garlic pizza...YUM YUM!
7.  Man sometimes I wish I was a kid again...some of the coolest toys.  This happens to be an ice cream cart (complete with all sorts of desserts) for Taylor and Tatum's dolls.  A little on the pricey side...maybe it will come on sale soon.
8.  Thanks to Facebook I tried a garlic knot recipe...super easy and SUPER delicious!
9.  My hubby brought each of the girls home a life size monkey for Valentine's Day!

If you are interested in the garlic knots here is the recipe...

1 can of original biscuits (I used Safeway brand, doesn't matter just make sure they aren't the flaky ones)
Cut biscuits in quarters and put in bowl.
Add 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (I think I used a little extra...can't ever have enough garlic)
3 T melted butter
2 T parsley flakes
1 cup mozzarella cheese

Use your hands to mix biscuit pieces with 4 other ingredients

Spray muffin pan!

Drop 3 pieces of biscuit into each muffin section.  (You probably won't have enough pieces to fill entire pan, I had one spot empty)

Bake on 375 for 12-15 minutes!

When You Give A Girl A Camera

When you give a girl a camera she's probably going to use it.
And when you take the card out of it, you never know what you're going to find.

And you know what?  She took some pretty good pics.

Oh and a few funny ones!!

My Little Entrepreneur

If you don't mind the hard work...shoveling snow might just be the business for you.  Thomas and his friend Aidan took a stab at it on Tuesday when more than a foot of snow fell at our house.  Thomas started with the walkway to our door and well...

I'll let the pictures tell the story.

The wind was blowing so hard that every time he dumped the snow it flew back on him.

Needless to say they gave up at my house and moved across the street.  They shoveled for about 15 minutes and then took a much needed hot chocolate/movie break.

And after their break they finished Aidan's driveway...well kind of!  Can you believe they got paid $30 bucks for that?  They eventually did come help shovel my driveway, but I am WAY pickier...they only got $5 each from me.  They also shoveled a nearby driveway and earned $20.  Not too bad for their first time.
