1-2

Well it certainly isn't from lack of trying that both my fantasy team and the Seahawks are now 1-2. I personally got my butt kicked in fantasy football this week and am starting to feel a little of last years breeze coming in, where in week 6 I had yet to win a game. Oh well, I will put this loss behind me and focus on my upcoming matchup and hopefully have a different outcome.

The Seahawks on the otherhand....what the hell. I want them to win for more than just one reason. Winning Seahawks makes for a much happier husband and in a state where your team is in the same division as the local team...well you can guess how that goes over.

Nevertheless my family was decked out in Seahawks gear, the kids in all of their new stuff.

On The Road Again....

My favorite Aunty Bubs and Uncle Jim were in town this last week for a visit and it was great. I am not sure if it is the fear of flying or the ability to take as much time as they need, but which ever it is, they drove from Portland, OR. My aunt said it was so she could see my little ones before they grow up anymore, but I think she really just wanted to see me.

They came baring lots of gifts for the kids (mostly in the form of Seahawks gear) and they loved it. I dressed both of them up on Sunday all decked out. It isn't easy in Arizona to get football garb for any team except the Cardinals and NO THANKS.

I am sad to say that they are leaving town this morning, but it was a very nice week.

My Birthday...

Well my blogger birthday anyway was yesterday. I cannot believe it has been a year already. When I started this thing I really wouldn't have predicted that I would keep up with it. Now I know I haven't been a great blogger lately and I am really trying to work on that, but I think I have done pretty good.

It has been quite the year with lots of great moments and some ones I'd rather forget. I am looking forward to the holiday season that is upon us and hoping for tons more to blog about.

My Diva

I wish I could look back on what I was like when I was Taylor's age. There is no denying the fact that she has quite the little personality.

She does not like to be told "No" and she does not like it when she doesn't get her way. It is hilarious when it isn't totally out of control. She turns on the tears and the charm just when the time is right. I think the only person left still falling for her act is her dad, but if I were a gambling girl I would say this will never change.

Occasionally it works on me or she is just too cute for me to care...I am not sure which. All I can say is that I cannot believe how much my second baby is not a baby anymore. She is a little girl and I fear the future. :)

It's No Secret....

I have been a bad blogger and this is not the first time I have told you all this. I hate blogging without new photos which is a horrible excuse, but every time I sit down to blog I get out of the mood because I have no pics to share. Anyway, wouldn't you know it that I now have some to share so I will catch you all up on what has been going on.....

Football season is in full swing and I am off to a 1-1 start in my fantasy league. Not what I had hoped for, but I am not complaining. Of course the one downfall to football season is the absolute lack of work that gets done around the house. And I take full responsibility in the part I play also, I am just as guilty of parking my butt on the couch when I get home from work.

We did however go enjoy a wonderful dinner at our good friends, Steve and Sarah this last Sunday and it was very nice. Good food and good friends are a great combination and add to that the kids where not too out of control.

The kids roasted marshmallows after dinner and Thomas didn't really get that you are supposed to let the marshmallow heat up and even burn a little. This is what most of his looked like.

Taylor was a HUGE fan of the smores, like mother like daughter!!

Thomas' look in this picture cracked me up. Him and his little girlfriend Allyssa!

Are you Ready????

Because I am SOOO ready!! For some NFL football that is. It is always sad to see the summer come to an end although it doesn't feel that way in Arizona AT ALL. One of the wonderful things about summer ending though is FOOTBALL season beginning.

Tonight is the season opening game Steelers vs Titans. I have my fantasy football team set, the kids are fed and it is now just a matter of counting down the minutes.

On a completely other note I have been working my butt off getting hair clips made. I will be selling at a boutique sale the first weekend in Oct and of course that means it is very important to have lots of inventory. I ordered business cards off of etsy and they turned out so cute. I have to give recognition to Lindsay from Sweet Pea Art and Design who designed the cards for me. She did a fabulous job and if you are ever in need of business cards I highly recommend contacting her. I can't wait to have them in my hands.

Because technically we have not worn or taken pictures yet this season in our Seahawks gear I will share a photo from a VERY memorable Seahawks vs Cardinals game two years ago. To sum up the day: fun, alcohol, a very obnoxious husband and a sad loss by the Hawks. Still one of the best days!!

I got the 3rd Pick

Well we are playing fantasy football again this year and yesterday was DRAFT DAY!! I drew the 3rd overall pick and I decided when all was said and done it does not matter what pick you have. I am very pleased with my team and it should be a very good season. Football season is my absolute favorite time of year, minus the fact that Tom does absolutely no yard work on Sundays. I work every Sunday, but barely miss anything once daylight savings time happens (I miss about the first half of early games until then). Although we live in Arizona we ARE NOT Cardinal fans. We are a family of Seahawk fans despite my parents and sisters' endless tries to get Thomas to be a Cardinals fan. I would say that football is the only sport I can sit and watch from start to finish. I do have to specify though that I am not much for college football as a lot of people are. Frankly I think there are too many teams to follow and I do not have that kind of time. NFL it is for me. I took my camera with me, but draft day is way too complicated to try and take pics. I did get my mom to take one of my sis and I.

On a completely different note, well not entirely, I came up with the idea of making hair clips to match the teams that people root for. Sports fans are not just boys yet I don't seem to find an enormous amount of girls clothes when looking. The idea stemmed from getting Taylor a Seahawks jersey but adding cute korker hair clips to girly her up. Anyway keep an eye out on my etsy site for future listings for your favorite team colors. Here is a little pic of the ones I made for Taylor, or myself if I feel like it :)

Go Seahawks!!!

Busy Busy

I just have to post quickly about my hair clip venture. I have had a good couple of weeks and I really hope that it only gets better. I had a better month of sales at the shop my mom and I both consign in Flourish Boutique. It is a highend boutique filled with tons of artists, I feel lucky that my clips get a little attention in such a place. Best of all I had a wonderful week of sales on etsy. I have been busy every morning making clips. I always say that if I didn't sell another clip ever again at least Taylor would have cute clips for every outfit.
I always like to share a little of my latest.

Another week come and gone

Well another week has come and gone. It is the end of August already and I really can't believe it. I was in Hobby Lobby (my favorite store) the other day and not only are they fully stocked on wonderful fall and Halloween stuff, but they have almost all of their Christmas items out as well. I can't even begin to think about Christmas, although I should because it always hits us hard at one time. Anyway, it has approached rather fast, but I love fall. It is a little different in Arizona than the Northwest, but I still love it. I found the kids' Halloween costumes the other day now I just need to go buy them. Again I will be the one choosing costumes and Tom will not like it, but I do not care.

What else??? Everyone except me was sick this last weekend. What a joke that is, it would almost be better if I had been sick with them. Their wining and complaining wouldn't have been so annoying. Tom was the biggest baby of them all, all I heard all weekend was "Baby, I'm sick!!" This was his answer to everything. I worked my normal shifts both Saturday and Sunday, but took off to go shopping as soon as I got home on Saturday. I couldn't handle it!! I am not the most sympathetic mommy.

I didn't get to take many pics over the last week with all of the runny noses, but I did get a couple pics while I was taking pictures of my hair clips.

Taylor and Thomas both got haircuts today. I took care of Thomas' and Taylor got her done by a pro. I can't handle her bob and weave action during the process. How cute is she?? She thinks she is such a big girl. She wants to do and have everything that Thomas has, hence the golf club.

And my little man. Still loving school and learning lots. He knows a bit of sign language, the days of the week and a few new songs. I love my two hour break three days a week, so it is a win win situation.

In the end it was a good day

So when I woke up yesterday with a migraine I had a bad feeling my dad would only get worse. Headaches are not good, migraines are even worse, but add two toddlers to the mix and well if you have been in the situation you know how it goes and if you haven't then you never want too.

Taylor decided this past weekend that she no longer wants to stay in her crib. She climbed out on Saturday twice and once on Sunday. Let me tell you people that I am not ready for a 15 month old to be out of her crib for good. I took absolutely everything out of her crib (she doesn't even get to sleep with her favorite big pink dog) and have found she is staying in. Well at least she did yesterday and last night. I know you all must think I am mean that she is allowed nothing in her crib, but a moms got to do what a moms got to do. She is sneaky and strong, a very bad combination.

Thomas had preschool yesterday and of course we were running late, luck found me though and I hit zero lights on the way, so we got there with one minute to spare. Taylor and I hung out for a little while and watched through the one way window and he really is so cute. He is already learning to write his name. During school Taylor and I came home and she played outside. I of course brought my camera and had to share one of my pics.

Photobucket
I am sure my kids already think I am crazy with all of the pictures I take, but when they are older they may just appreciate it that I have documented their lives quite well.

My day got better throughout and by the time we got home from preschool my migraine had gone away. I got a jolt of energy and baked two loaves of banana bread, blueberry muffins and made a great dinner. I came in to check my email while my dinner was cooking and got a great surprise. I sold 11 sets of hair clips to one lady. It makes me so happy just when I see that people have looked at my stuff on etsy, when they actually buy something I get excited like a little kid.

In the end it was a good day, it just started out a little slow.

Trying to find a groove

Well today was day 2 of preschool and it went just as well as day 1. I am so glad we made the decision to do preschool. Thomas really needs it and I think mommy needs it a little also. After Taylor and I dropped him off it was a quick stop at the bank and off to get my nails done. Taylor sat quietly in her stroller and giggled at me the entire time.

The afternoon thing is working out, but it has completely thrown off our normal routine. I have been lucky enough to still get really good naps out of Thomas and of course Taylor, but with school at 2pm it makes for no naps and a very early bedtime. In turn this means my kids are up even earlier than normal. What to do??

On a completely different note I took the kids out back this morning in hopes to get some cute pics of them together, NO LUCK AT ALL!! I did however get one good one of each of them. I still have not given up on the photography thing I just need to make time and anyone that knows me knows that I am not good at making time. I am hoping that with a good new routine I can make some time.

I said before I had Thomas that if there was one thing I would do was take lots of pictures. I have succeeded at this no question, but now it is a matter of getting really good pictures. I have thousands of pictures of my kids no joke. I am obsessed one might say.

Our { GRASSHOPPER }

So yesterday was Thomas' first day of preschool. He woke up early as usual, but instantly bugging me to let him take a shower so he could get ready for school. I had to break his heart and try to explain to him that school wasn't until 2 in the afternoon.

We took Taylor over to my moms so him and I could have some mommy and Thomas time. We went to Jamba Juice and got a smoothie or as he likes to call them a "Poovie". Once you have more than one kid you really start to cherish the moments when you are one on one with either of them.

Photobucket

He had no fear whatsoever, went and sat in his seat and never looked back. He was super excited to tell me all about his first day when I picked him up. I will admit that I almost cried, but held it together because he was so brave. I know that I am not the first to say this, but wow time flies. He really isn't my baby anymore. Oh and at his preschool (Kinderbugs) he is known as a grasshoppper.

Cookie and Daddy

Well this is what I am most proud of after our weekend away. I actually got a good picture of Tom and Taylor which is great because I really do not have any pictures of the two of them. I know I don't say this enough, but Tom really is a great dad and although we can't play favorites, this little girl has her dad wrapped around her little finger. It's a good thing Thomas levels the playing field with me.
Photobucket

Cooler temps here we come!!

It is hilarious that when you are used to 110+ degrees how cool 90 feels. It has been crazy hot as usual this summer and we decided that it would be nice to get away for a few days. After I had worked an unusual amount of hours last week we headed to Showlow for the weekend. My parents met there the second day and stayed for the rest of the weekend. It was a much need R&R getaway. We did almost nothing which was perfectly fine with me. Tom and my dad took Thomas fishing for the first time and as I predicted Thomas wasn't a huge fan. But the thing with him is, he is happy just being with his dad and papa. He is a 3yr old so it would be a shock if there wasn't some complaining anyway. I played mamarazzi whenever I could and got quite a few pics.

Playing Catch-up

Well, here I go again explaining that I have been a very bad blogger lately and have no real good excuse. I have noticed that I am not the only one though, so I don't feel as bad. It has been pretty crazy around here, this is really the first time in over a week that I have spent any real time at the computer. Tom took a week long vacation last week so I could pick up some hours at work and go camping (well it really isn't camping when you stay in a cabin, but whatever). I will break up my posts so I don't get too long winded.

My one piece of news in this post is that we have put our house on the market. Very long story, but the short of it is that we are not moving out of Arizona just hopefully into something a little larger than what we currently have. There have been quite a few showings and there is one offer on the table, so I will keep you updated.

While Tom was on dad duty last week one of his responsibilities was to give Thomas a haircut. While standing in the check stand at work this is what walked up to me and yelled "Mommy, look at my hair!!"

Photobucket

No worries, it did not last! It was cute for the day, but I just thought it made him look mean and when he is already on my last nerve that haircut just put me over the edge. I will just keep the pictures for the memories.
