The 4th Day of July

We wore festive clothing!!

We wished for the rain to stop...

It did so we swam!!

We ate too much yummy food and followed that with yummy dessert!!

Happy "day after" the 4th of July!!!!

4 Months

Tatum Marie....today you are 4 months old!!

Today the doc told me you looked beautiful and were growing perfectly!!

Today she told me that you weigh more than 50% of girls your age...that you are taller than 90% of girls your age and your head is bigger than 75% of girls your age!!

Par for the course my sweet girl!!

 

I absolutely love your little personality!!  It is safe to say that you still aren't a huge fan of anyone besides me...mommy, but you have improved over the last few weeks!!  You cry a little less when other people hold you, although I think you still like to know I am in the room!!  We really need to work on this one girlfriend...mommy might want to leave town some time!!

You are smiling, giggling and babbling (screaming) A LOT!!  You still spit up A LOT and therefor you get about 3-4 outfit changes a day!!  4 months marks a milestone in baby months...solid foods!!  Woohoo!!  I am crossing my fingers with solid foods will come less spitting up!!  I am not putting any serious money on that though!!

Getting the heck out of Dodge

If you don't live here and haven't seen the weather report, us Arizonians haven't seen double digits in a while and it's getting worse...supposed to be 112 degrees today!!

So when the temps get this high, we want to get the heck out of here!!  And that's just what we did this weekend!!

We packed up everything but the kitchen sink and headed to the White Mountains with our friends The Grove's.  To Showlow, where the high temp was 85 degrees!!  Or as I like to refer to it...HEAVEN!!

We ate, the kids played outside, we played cards, we drank (some more than others), we played mini golf and rode go-karts, we ate some more and drank a little more too!!  It was a great little vacation, hopefully the first of many!!

Such a character this one...I found him on the side of the house pouting about who knows what!!  I got him to smile and he was back to playing in no time!!

The kids were so excited they got to play outside the whole time!!!  Triple digits back home do not allow that unless you are swimming!!

Couldn't have been happier with my Tatum...she was a perfect angel the whole weekend!!

Swimming

The best part of living in Arizona is the weather, hands down!!  And with the wonderfully hot weather comes a great amount of time spent in the pool!!

This summer has started off just like the last 7...lots and lots of swimming!

Guess who finally got in the water??  Nope not me...well not this day anyway!!  Miss Tatum took her first swim around the pool and screamed the whole time! 

We'll try again when the water warms up a bit!!  Apparently 82 degrees is still too cold for this little princess!!

This particular day I was still only ankle deep with my mom!!  I have since gotten in!!

Much happier just chillin' in her car seat at swim lessons!!  She gets a pass this summer, but she won't be so lucky next summer!!

Learning how to dive at swim lessons!!  It's a challenge, that's all I will say about that!!

They both like to do a little sunbathing in between turns!!  As if they need any sun, can you tell how dark they both are already?

I am not trying to rub it in, but it's only week two of our summer, so I predict a whole lot more swimming to share!!

My Little Bakers

Last Friday the kids pulled out #1 from the summer jar...

What was #1 you ask....

Don't mind Taylor's bangs...I have taken care of that since then!!  Again she can see my friends!!

Can you tell how "helpful" they were?!?

It would have been way to simple to choose the same cookie!!  And since we can't agree on which cookie to bake what would ever give you the idea we could agree on who's to bake first?

Each pan went into the oven with an equal chocolate chip/sugar cookie ratio!!

Thankfully there aren't a lot of baking things on our summer bucket list since I am the one doing all the baking!!

This week has been filled with paint and glitter glue!!  Can't share yet though...a special someone will be receiving said projects!!

I Totally Forgot

I completely stepped over one other important end of the year day...Taylor's last day of school!!  And because I took pictures I had to backtrack a little!!

Taylor isn't as big of a fan of school as her brother...most days we argue about why she has to go, so it is no surprise she was VERY happy to be done with school!!

Wait until she finds out she has to go everyday this year!!  I am sure a post will be devoted to that come August!!  For now we will enjoy the summer and cross that bridge when we get to it!

I'm Gonna Bundle This One

Although I have been home a lot this week, I have not sat down to blog at all.   Been meaning too...but needed to edit pics and really haven't been in the mood to do that, so no new posts.

But the mood has now struck, so this will be a little recap bundled post of what we have been up too!

We have now been on summer vacation for a little over a week and I am happy to report I have not started drinking mid-day yet!!  You know how when you are in the hospital and they ask you every three hours to rate your pain...well I will rate our summer and give it a solid 7 right now.  Definitely room for improvement, but so far so good!!  Although...ask me again in three hours and there is a good chance it changes!!

The kids have had four opportunities to pull numbers out of the jar and although it was close today, they have pulled all four numbers.

Day 1...#18

Go Bowling!! 

They were so excited that they pulled something so fun the first day!!  I won't lie when I tell you that my first instinct was to tell them to throw it back and we would draw something else, but I took a deep breath and said "WooHoo...we're going bowling!!"  I invited our good friends the Grove's to join us!!  I figured I would share the misery fun of kids and bowling with Lisa!!  She obliged!!

Day 2, 3 and 4...crafting, coloring and cookies!!  

We started swim lessons this week and I am happy to report both Thomas and Tay are doing great!!  They are learning to dive and swim a little more fluidly!! I love seeing how great they are in the water...god knows their mom is horrible.  She may or may not still plug her nose!!  Just sayin'!!

This weekend will hopefully be filled with swimming at Nana and Papa's house and a little relaxation!!  The temperatures are rising and I may get in the pool finally!!  I said may, no promises!  Next week should be another fun week and a bonus....friends from out of town the Harding's will be visiting!!
